One Heat Level. Perfectly Cooked Rice.

Set to medium heat and leave it — no adjustments needed. The thick, porous Iga clay base (approximately 1.5x thicker than a standard pot) absorbs and distributes heat evenly, while the double-lid creates a gentle pressure-cooking effect that prevents boiling over. After the heat is off, the donabe continues to steam the rice as it slowly cools, resulting in fluffy, glossy grains every time.

Kamado-san can also be used for soups, stews, and hot pot — simply remove the inner lid.

A Donabe That Grows With You

With regular use, your Kamado-san develops its own character. Fine crazing (kannyu) may appear on the glaze — this is a natural and welcome sign of aging, not a defect. Slight darkening on the base is also normal. As a handcrafted piece, each donabe is unique; subtle variations in color, shape, and pattern are part of what makes it special.

Note: Each piece is hand work by the artist, even the same piece will have a slightly different expression.
