Chadō (or sadō) is the art of boiling water, preparing tea, and serving it with grace.
Various tools are essential to perform this traditional practice: kama (iron kettle), tetsubin (cast iron kettle), chasen (tea whisk), chashaku (tea scoop),
mizusashi (water container), kensui (waste-water bowl), chaire (tea caddy), natsume (tea container), kijindai (stand for honored guest),
chakin (linen cloth), hishaku (ladle), futaoki (lid rest), fukusa (silk cloth), kobukusa (small cloth), kōgō (incense container), kaishi (paper), and chawan (tea bowl).
All of them line up neatly, waiting for their moment to be used.
Note: Each piece is hand work by the artist, even the same piece will have a slightly different expression.
