Product Description
A magaki refers to a fence loosely woven from bamboo, brushwood, or similar natural materials.
Depending on the region, it is also called mase or masegaki. In the context of historic pleasure quarters, the term could also refer to the lattice partition installed between the earthen-floored entrance and the raised interior of a courtesan house.
Additionally, a himorogi is a temporary sacred enclosure or structure prepared as a yorishiro—an object or space that invites and houses a deity during ritual observances.
Note: Each piece is hand work by the artist, even the same piece will have a slightly different expression.
