Rectangular Plate
A rectangular Plate that began to be made around the middle of the Edo period. It was designed to serve “yakimono” (grilled food) separately from the main dish. It was mainly used to serve grilled fish. Since it was less time-consuming to make and could be mass-produced, it became popular as a plate for one more dish.
Since this is a vintage item, the shape varies slightly from piece to piece.
We hope you enjoy the surprise of which one you'll receive!
