Okubo House
Okubo House Woodworks was founded in 2012 by woodworker Kotaro Okubo in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. He handles cooking utensils and other utilitarian items using a whittling and finishing technique. He makes and uses different types of planes according to the type of work he is making, and pursues the usability of his tools through dialogue with the people who use them. The quality of the tools is so comfortable to use that professional cookery researchers have come to rely on them.
Note: Each piece is hand work by the artist, even the same piece will have a slightly different expression.
