Kyoto-based ceramic artist. After studying ceramics at Kyoto University of Art and Design, she started her ceramic brand “dona ceramic studio” in 2015, pursuing new possibilities in ceramics under the theme of decorate-orijin-nature-art (=dona). The textures and organic forms of his works, which he produces using a unique technique of mixing and firing sea sand he collects himself, are impressive. They evoke the timeless existence of ancient stone sculptures and drifted objects that have washed up on the beach over long periods of time. The work has a pleasantly calm appearance, with its plump and soft forms and decorative elements harmonizing effortlessly.
