A CIBONE-exclusive edition of the Base Tote M by This is a(n), made using deadstock fabric sourced in Japan and specially selected for this project.

Inspired by the construction of U.S. military Coal Bags and Helmet Bags, the Base Tote M reinterprets their functional structure into a simple, everyday tote.

The M size features short handles rather than a shoulder strap, allowing the bag to be carried by hand while emphasizing its classic, relaxed silhouette. With a generous 14 cm gusset, it offers substantial storage while maintaining a clean, understated profile.

The spacious interior comfortably fits A4 documents, a 13–15 inch laptop, a water bottle, and other daily essentials. Its generous capacity makes it ideal for work, everyday errands, weekends, or trips to the gym—designed to let you carry what you need without having to think too much about space.

Made from canvas, the bag develops more character and softness with use, gradually taking on a texture and presence unique to its owner.

For the CIBONE exclusive, Japanese deadstock fabric not used in the brand’s regular collection has been specially selected and reworked in two colors.

Purple is a muted purple with a subtle red undertone, giving the color a warm, sophisticated depth while maintaining an understated, versatile character. Its quiet richness adds a subtle sense of depth to everyday styling without feeling overly bold.

Ivory is dyed to create a cleaner, more refined expression, minimizing the visible flecks naturally found in traditional canvas. The result is a soft, warm tone with a more modern and polished character than the brand’s standard Natural color.

The CIBONE exclusive edition maintains This is a(n)’s made-to-order philosophy, while reinterpreting the material, color, and context specifically for CIBONE.

Please note: The M size does not include a shoulder strap. The Black color is part of the regular collection and is not included in the CIBONE exclusive edition.
