ReLRABO gohan chawan winter night grey

Everyday rice bowl with a soft silhouette

ReIRABO Gohan Chawan in Winter Night Grey is a comfortable 330ml porcelain rice bowl with a rounded form that feels natural in the hand. Its easy everyday size makes it a thoughtful gift for a new home, wedding, or family occasion.

ReIRABO

This series is the result of repeated testing to reimagine the traditional ceramic glaze known as Irabo into a modern, everyday product.

Traditional Irabo glaze is characterized by its cloudy, mottled appearance, often seen on matcha bowls and works by studio potters. We have always felt that finding beauty in the unevenness of a glaze—appreciating its imperfections as a visual highlight—is a distinctly Japanese sensibility.

It took a considerable amount of time to stabilize this Irabo glaze, which initially seemed entirely unsuited for mass production, to make it durable enough for microwave and dishwasher use. However, we believe we have successfully created an Irabo glaze for the modern lifestyle. To reflect this fresh reinterpretation, we named the series "ReIRABO."

Size: W11 × H6cm.

• Dishwasher safe
• Microwave safe
• Not suitable for oven use

Each piece is finished by hand, so glaze color, texture, capacity, and dimensions may vary. These expressive differences are part of ReIRABO's character.

Designed and produced by Yumiko Iihoshi, yumiko iihoshi porcelain explores the space between handmade craft and industrial production, bringing warmth and individuality to durable everyday tableware.
