ReIRABO Redonburi in Brown by yumiko iihoshi porcelain is a lightweight Japanese bowl designed to sit comfortably in the hand. Its gently varied form and hand-finished character make each piece unique.

ReIRABO

This series is the result of repeated testing to reimagine the traditional ceramic glaze known as Irabo into a modern, everyday product.

Traditional Irabo glaze is characterized by its cloudy, mottled appearance, often seen on matcha bowls and works by studio potters. We have always felt that finding beauty in the unevenness of a glaze—appreciating its imperfections as a visual highlight—is a distinctly Japanese sensibility.

It took a considerable amount of time to stabilize this Irabo glaze, which initially seemed entirely unsuited for mass production, to make it durable enough for microwave and dishwasher use. However, we believe we have successfully created an Irabo glaze for the modern lifestyle. To reflect this fresh reinterpretation, we named the series "ReIRABO."

Use it for noodles, soups, rice bowls, and everyday meals. Size: W16 × H8.5 cm.
