The Decorated Bowl Random Carved Lines brings the artistry of Yamanaka woodturning to the everyday table. Crafted from zelkova wood, its carved line pattern gives the surface a distinctive, irregular rhythm. A black finish highlights the decoration and the bowl’s carefully turned form.
Decorative turning, known as kashoku-biki, is a defining skill of Yamanaka craftsmanship. Specialized chisels create either evenly spaced parallel lines or spiral grooves cut in a continuous movement, with these techniques said to produce 40–50 patterns. This bowl offers a way to appreciate that tradition in daily use, with a 300 ml capacity suited to soup or small side dishes.
