This is the fourth new collection from 1616/arita japan, a series by Danish designer Cecilie Manz. The theme of the collection is “CLAY” and focuses on the clay. Arita-yaki porcelain, which was originally considered to be white porcelain, uses iron-containing clay, which was never used in the past. The piece is composed of a combination of glazed and unglazed areas.
It was created after several years of meticulous verification and countless prototypes. Since the color is left in its natural state, the intensity of the gray varies from piece to piece. The shading is created by all kinds of conditions, including the position of the pieces in the kiln and sun exposure. Cecilie Manz considers these individual differences to be part of the design as a rich expression. There are many ways to use it besides eating soba. This soba boar cup can be used as a teacup for drinking tea, or as a small bowl for soupy side dishes. It is also a good size for eating yogurt or for serving soup in a cup. It can also be used as a container for making seasonings when cooking.
0This product is made of Amakusa ceramic stone porcelain clay (red clay), a blended ceramic clay with a high iron content. This red clay is characterized by its ability to express warm, natural texture and color. Therefore, iron powder (black spots), uneven glaze, uneven color, and fire marks may occur on the surface. Also, due to the design, there will be some distortion due to the thinness of the rim. Please understand this in advance.
