This is a box without a lid. The mouth of the box is double-layered for sturdiness. The shallow type is ideal as a box for organizing tools that are frequently taken in and out.
This style of box is often found among the boxes left behind by the Shakers. Once you start using it, you will not be able to put it down.
The mouth of the box, which tends to be bumped when carrying or inserting/removing items, is reinforced by double-wrapped boards, so you can use the box as much as you like without worrying about it being damaged. Of course, we will be happy to repair any wear and tear that may occur over the years of use, so please use with peace of mind.
