A clock that tells time, approximately

“What time is it?”

Look at this clock and a soft, relaxed naan seems to answer. Meet Naan Time? (Ima Nanji), a playful clock made from real naan bread.

There is no traditional clock face, so it only gives you a rough sense of the time. That is the whole point. Inspired by Salvador Dalí’s The Persistence of Memory, also known as The Soft Watches, Naan Time? gently questions our habit of measuring every moment and rushing through busy days.

In the end, it is a whimsical object with a simple wish: to live a little more loosely, with the relaxed, irregular charm of naan. We hope it makes you smile.

Every piece is unique

The naan is real bread, preserved and transformed into a clock. Each piece has its own shape, size, baked marks, and expression, so no two clocks look exactly alike.

Production is made in collaboration with Art and Nepal, a Nepalese curry restaurant in Amagasaki, Hyogo, Japan, known for its food and wide-ranging art activities.

Important notes

• This product is made from real bread. Variations in shape, size, and browning are part of its character.
• The inside is hollowed out during production. Small cracks and, in rare cases, tiny holes may appear. These are not defects.
• The preservation treatment helps prevent mold and deterioration from the small openings.
• This is a fragile art object. Please handle it with care, as its strength is comparable to glass.
• Contact with alcohol spray or similar products may leave the bread surface cloudy white.
• The curved naan version does not have dedicated packaging. It will be packed with protective cushioning in a plain cardboard box and cannot be gift-wrapped.
