Shimao Kiso
Born in 1954 in Tokyo. Currently bases in Seto-city, Aichi prefecture. He created vessels with a streamlined form, powerful with a solid presence. He mainly utilze a special glaze called "Oribe", which is a rich source of copper, making a green color through oxidation firing. His Oribe ceramic pieces have a beautiful and unique shade of color, evoking the image of outer space. The shape of the vessels are well-fit for every type of cuisine, from breakfast to dessert. Note: Each piece is hand work by the artist, even the same piece will have a slightly different expression.
