Product Description
Kanata Shisama
He was born in 1973 in Kanagawa Prefecture and raised in Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture.
1995: Graduated from the University of Tsukuba (Department of Natural Sciences).
1995: Re-enrolled in the university's Comparative Culture Program.
During this time, he met and apprenticed under the celadon artist Takashi Ono.
1997: Completed the Comparative Culture Program.
1998: Completed the Wheel Throwing Program at the Ibaraki Prefecture Industrial Technology Center Ceramic Guidance Division.
Afterward, he returned to Sano, established a kiln, and continued creating pottery using only local clay and stone from Sano.
He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Tochigi, Gunma, and other regions.
Note: Each piece is hand work by the artist, even the same piece will have a slightly different expression.
