This stole features a shibori technique known as tegumo shibori, named for its resemblance to a spider's web when the pattern is opened. Made of lightweight silk, it develops a richer texture with use, as the fabric softens and the soft, blurred patterns of the shibori become more pronounced over time. Over time, the stole takes on a unique character, becoming more refined and expressive as it ages.
