Product Description
Hand-crafted from premium natural bamboo by Kyoto’s historic Kohchosai Kosuga, this traditional Chashaku (Tea Scoop) is the ultimate tool for your daily matcha ritual. Beautifully curved to measure the perfect amount of powder.
This is a chashaku (tea scoop) made from susudake (smoked bamboo), crafted from the central section of the bamboo.
Carefully finished, this scoop is used for measuring and transferring matcha powder. Suitable for tea gatherings, practice sessions, or everyday use.
The bamboo was originally used in the structural framework and ceilings of thatched-roof traditional houses (approximately 100–200 years old). Over time, exposure to smoke from the irori hearth naturally transformed the bamboo into rich brown and amber tones. This smoked bamboo is prized for its subtle coloration that evokes a sense of wabi-sabi aesthetics.
Because natural materials are used, slight variations in size, color, and shape may occur.
