Masakazu Yoshida
Born in 1973 in Kyoto. Engaged in Asahiyaki pottery from Uji for nearly 14 years, from 2006 to 2019.
Asahiyaki is done using one of the seven kilns with a 400 year history in Uji, a famous tea-producing region in Japan with it's tradition preserved by tea masters. Through encounters with many people from Japan and abroad, Masakazu learned the beauty of conveying handmade craftmanship, aiming to support the creation of spaces and family dining tables.
After establishing his studio at Ashiya-City, Hyogo prefecture, he continues to create pottery with his unique approach, involving craftmanship from past generation.
