Twotoo is a brand new pair of cups with a history and story behind them: the two cups have the same golden lines, but the pattern and white parts are reversed.
The design is based on the story of a white porcelain cup and a blue cup that broke in exactly the same shape, and the pieces were pieced together in a mismatched manner.
Of course, the story is fictional, as no two cups ever break exactly alike.
However, the shards are shared, and the story is shared, creating a pair of cups with a strong connection.Designer Norihiko Terayama was inspired to design Twotoo by the story of what if there were two pieces of broken vessels with the same shape.
The patterned part is glazed and smooth, while the white part is matte and smooth.
In Japanese traditional culture, there is a technique to heal broken vessels called "tsugi.
Using gold or silver for the joints, the cups with crack-like lines are more profound and endearing than before they were broken.
Using a special transfer technique, we have faithfully reproduced that traditional technique of "silver joints," smartly expressing a romantic story and attachment to a treasured object.
A memorable product perfect for couples, gifts for couples, anniversaries, and more.
