This is the sixteenth volume of a series that began publication in 1977 by Asahi Sonorama, a publishing company affiliated with the Asahi Shimbun. The series continued through its 27th volume, and included many important photo books, such as Nobuyoshi Araki's “My Love, Yoko,” Masahisa Fukase's “Yoko,” and Daido Moriyama's “Nippon Theater Photo Albums.
This book contains photographs taken in Tokyo, the Kanto region, the Tohoku region, and the Kinki region in the 1970s. It also includes a foreword by Seiji Otsuji and a commentary by Masahiro Song. The book is a masterpiece of photography, capturing various images of people at Japanese festivals and giving the book a mysterious air.
