Product Description
HOZU BAG HISTORY
A paraglider that has completed its journey.
After years of soaring through the sky, the material eventually reaches the point where it can no longer fly.
Rather than treating these retired wings as waste, we choose to see them as a resource with new potential.
HOZU BAG was born from this perspective.
Materials once carried by the wind are brought back into everyday life.
Within this transformation, we discover new value.
This initiative began in response to Kameoka City's "Plastic Waste Zero Declaration," announced in 2018 in Kyoto, Japan.
Retired paragliders are collected and carefully reworked within the local community, then reborn as bags.
Preserving the memory of the material while giving it a new form and purpose.
It is also an attempt to gently redefine our relationship with the things we use.
The Origin of the Name
The name HOZU comes from the Hozu River, which flows from Kameoka to Arashiyama in Kyoto.
Like the river itself, HOZU aims to connect place, people, and time through a continuous flow.
