Michikazu Sakai
Born in 1975 in Suzaka City, Nagano Prefecture. Studied under Bizen ware potter Satoru Masamune after studying at the Bizen Pottery Center in Okayama Prefecture. Established his "Anagama" wood-fired kiln in Suzaka City, Nagano Prefecture in 1997. Currently focuses on making pottery for personal and group expositions in Kagawa, Kyoto, and Okayama. His “Utsuwa” prominently features the green colored “Oribe glaze" and ash glaze from mimosa trees.
