This attractive teapot has a peeled paint finish and drains well, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely cup of tea.
When two types of colored clay are applied and allowed to dry, the surface layer of the clay cracks and the color peels off due to shrinkage of the clay. The color of the surface layer peels off, revealing the color of the inside and the lines of drawings made by scratching, creating a unique texture that can be enjoyed.
Katsunori Yaoita
Born in Niigata prefecture in 1969. Ceramist based in Nagaoka-shi, Niigata prefecture. Creates colorful utsuwa and objects that are full of poetic sentiment. The nostalgic halftone shades are reminiscent of well-known landscapes that express his unique view of the world.
