Ricca Okano

Born in 1975. Currently bases in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture. Her studio is located under a foggy weather surrounded by volcanoes and forestland. The ecosystem, changing clouds and ray of light are taken as part of her inspiration. Her works have the shape and color of something elusive, seem to suggest the act of contemplating a scene that is not visible. She describes her production in two sentences; withdrawal from her predeterminded self and integration of image and feelings.

Please enjoy the combination of the touchable solid texture of the clay, the shapes and colors of her work, and the view she sees when closing her eyes, which cannot be touched.
