Yoshinori Takemura's work has a wonderful balance of pop colors and sophisticated forms.
The most attractive feature of Mr. Takemura's work is the “color. Originally a chemistry enthusiast, Takemura taught himself how to mix glazes and is able to use more than 60 different colors. His works, which are like pieces of art, are unique and will add a touch of color to any corner of your room.
-Yoshinori Takemura-
Born in Chiba, Japan in 1980.
Takemura studied conservation and restoration at the graduate school of Tokyo University of the Arts, and simultaneously worked on research and restoration of old ceramics at the Department of Ceramic Art. During his studies, he began restoring ceramics and lacquerware by applying lacquer techniques, and is currently active as a ceramic artist, ceramic school owner, and restorer in Matsudo City, Chiba Japan.
Takemura applies glazes to white unglazed vessels as if he were dressing them, in a style of improvisation that deviates from a set formula.
The humorous shapes and colors of his work are enjoyable and inspiring, somewhat like a work of art.
