Scent by TY Incense” from ‘1616/arita japan,’ which delivers modern Arita-yaki porcelain while respecting the techniques cultivated over 400 years of tradition, is a set of three items: incense, incense container, and incense stand, which create a sense of space through smell, sight, and touch.
The urban and mannish design was created by designer Teruhiro Yanagihara.
The “incense” is directed by Kan Izumi, an artist who has also worked on the creation of spaces for luxury hotels and fragrance-related products for various brands.
The fragrance, which was formulated based on inspiration from a visit to an Arita-yaki pottery kiln, is based on the scent of pine trees used in the firing of pottery. The first thing that strikes you is the cool feeling as if you are walking in a conifer forest. Then, after a while after lighting the fire, the spiciness of the calm cardamom becomes more pronounced. In addition, a fresh sweet aroma like citrus is released. The fragrance obtained from natural materials heals the body and mind and recharges the energy.
Burning time is about 15 minutes. Refresh your head after a hard day's work.

1616 Arita Japan

It takes about 15 minutes to completely burn. Arita-yaki, a kind of Japanese pottery, finds its roots in the ancient ceramics town of Arita, Saga prefecture. In 1616, the Korean voyagers first introduced the art of pottery to Japan. Today, Arita still produces ceramics made by local craftsmen using the distinctive ingredient of clay made from crushed kaolin, feldspar and other stones. Inspired by the skills of local Arita craftsmen, designer and creative director Teruhiro Yanagihara developed a complete new ceramics brand for Momota–Touen Corporation. Named after its origins, 1616 / Arita Japan. It's vessels are capable for daily usage, made with extraordinary workmanship, thinness and strength of original Arita ware. Note: Each piece is hand work by the artist, even the same piece will have a slightly different expression.
